Memorandum of Understanding will explore opportunities to develop and deliver competitive residential Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Oxford, 16th November 2023 — Brill Power is partnering with Pod Point, one of the UK’s largest providers of electric vehicle charging infrastructure alongside battery maker Gotion High Tech and European EV battery startup InoBat. The Memorandum of Understanding marks the next step in Brill Power’s entry into the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) market.
The strategic agreement will see the four companies share expertise in power battery technology, EV battery R&D, and battery optimisation to develop a competitive quality home battery solution for customers. The goal is to develop and deliver innovative solutions for residential customers which will aim to help users significantly reduce energy costs and minimise carbon emissions.
To enable customers to optimise EV charge scheduling at home, and to maximise their energy flexibility, a home battery solution can be used to power homes or charge EVs, while enhancing the overall energy experience for consumers who can optimise their energy usage and charge during periods of low cost and when electricity on the grid is cleanest.
Christoph Birkl, CEO and co-founder of Brill Power concluded: “The energy transition will only happen if all actors in the sector work together to ensure that reliable and future-proof solutions are brought to market. Our advanced battery management system delivers an end-to-end solution that extends battery lifetime by up to 60%. We believe it will be a key element for Pod Point’s entry into the residential BESS market.”
