The HELIOS battery module incorporates Brill Power’s patented active loading technology to enable developers of industrial and utility-scale battery systems to extract maximum potential from batteries. Developed to seamlessly integrate into BESS racks and systems, the HELIOS module delivers a class leading solution for BESS OEM’s developing solutions.

Featuring Brill Power’s 3rd generation BMS+ power converter, the HELIOS module increases battery utilisation by up to 61%* and reduces LCOS by up to 26%. Designed in a 1P52S configuration utilising A grade 314Ah cells the HELIOS module also delivers class leading energy density.

Brill Power’s BrillOS firmware platform has been further refined for the HELIOS, enabling full OTA update capability. Crucially, this enables embedded State of Charge and State of Health algorithms to be continuously optimised through a system’s life. By reducing the divergence between actual SoC and reported SoC asset owners are able to make more informed decisions on usage and trading.

Addressing core industry challenges to improve BESS performance

With system uptime becoming increasingly important, the HELIOS improves availability by adding module-level redundancy and reducing both unplanned and planned downtime. Modules that fail are isolated, enabling the BESS rack and system to continue to function whilst rack DC voltage can also be retained thanks to integrated power conversion at rack level.

Brill Power’s in house designed DCDC converter delivers peak efficiency of 99% to maximises system performance. By integrating DCDC conversion, augmentation and the application of parallel racks is simplified and improved for OEM’s.

Safety is at the center of the HELIOS module design. Integrated liquid cooling enables operation across a range of temperatures and IP67 rating ensures systems are able to operate in harsh environments.

The HELIOS module will be certified to UL1973 and IEC62619 standards and is manufactured by Brill Power’s strategic partner, Lithium Valley.
