About
The Role

The Senior Aftersales Engineer will be responsible for leading technical engagement with customers post sale, diagnosing and resolving customer issues to their satisfaction. The person will be the main point of contact for customers post sale and in addition support setting and implementing the aftersales processes at Brill Power. In addition, during the growth phase of the company the individual will support the sales team to deliver technical responses to customer RFP’s.

The person will be technically minded with a strong understanding of battery technology and ideally battery management systems. The person will be integral in ensuring customers are satisfied during and after point of sale and that the rollout of Brill Power’s products to customers is effective.

This role will be a hybrid role, based in the UK with travel to customers in the UK, Europe and potentially US required. Hybrid working is available, with 3 days a week in Brill Power’s office in Oxford expected initially.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

Be the main point of contact for customers on all service and parts related questions following delivery of products. Specifically:

  • Support customers in setting up energy storage systems incorporating Brill Power’s battery management system.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in the field, where necessary liaising between Brill Power engineers and the customers to ensure permanent corrective actions.
  • Oversee warranty claims and ensure effective delivery of spare parts in coordination with logistics.
  • Work with Brill Power’s technical team to help answer and resolve customer questions.
  • Identify wider product issues and contingency plan roll-out.
  • Input into customer user guides and manuals for Brill Power hardware and software.
  • Deliver basic training to customers in integrating Brill Power battery management technology into their stationary energy storage systems.
  • Support the development and implementation of processes and procedures for aftersales management and technical support (e.g. warranty process, ticketing process).
  • Own the Customer Satisfaction KPI
  • Support the sales team in developing RFP responses (and where necessary support trade shows and events).
  • Engage with customers to help specify system requirements and outline the technical benefits Brill Power technology can bring to their systems.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Aftersales and technical service experience within a stationary energy storage or electric vehicle environment.
  • A strong understanding of battery systems and controls (ideally within stationary energy storage or electric vehicles).
  • Practical, with an ability to diagnose and resolve in field issues on electronics components.
  • Degree in electrical engineering (or similar) preferred but not essential.
  • Process orientated with experience of warranty and aftersales processes.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers on both a technical and commercial level.
